I am behind this purchase 100%. Every morning I watch him shake a battery cable and play a game of 3 card Monte with his spark plugs in order for his car to start to go to work. Every night by some miracle he returns home in said tenuous shell game car with flushed cheeks and wet brow from his lack of air conditioning.
As Rafiki says, “It is time.”
So, now the question becomes, what is a suitable vehicle for the Intern? It must be something fitting for his unique life--driving around my kids, to my friends after a meal I’ve prepared.
Kidding.
He has his thoughts--a Corvette, a Mustang…A truck of some sort.
I’m thinking a nice, safe, practical Volvo or fuel efficient-hybrid. Perhaps a motorcycle with 4 sidecars including room for a carseat and a bag of groceries. (Actually, anything as long as it doesn’t have some ridiculous redneck vanity plate like, “GITRDONE,” I’m good.)
At this impasse--which I know I have no chance of imposing my will I know--what do you think?
I've created the following non-partisan poll so you can vote in this election as many times as you'd like. (We're in Florida after all.)

Oh my GAWD Diva, he needs to think fuel efficiency. Those trucks aren't going to get that for him. He needs to think cherry red Nissan Sentra or the Toyota Pruis. I'm just looking out for the wallet of the intern-nephew-cousin runner....
What about the Scion a.k.a. Toaster
on Wheels? I see Spinners with purple lighted ground effects. A real Chick Magnet.
What is going to fit the kids and all their sporting stuff? I mean, he has to earn his keep, right?!
If I get a truck all the kids can sit in the back! No Spinners and no Hybrid I dont want a baby car...
We got my oldest son a barely used Nissan Murano to take to college. It was recommended by Consumer Reports, well rated for safety, drives like a dream and gets good milage. It COMFORTABLY seats even adults in the back seat, or several of his younger siblings. Lots of cargo space for hockey gear, etc. My second son has '07diesel VW Jetta. Great milage, very safe.
Intern, chicks dig small cars with great gas mileage...it leaves more in your pocket to spend on them. ;-)
I think fuel efficiency should be the number one criteria, but what do I know? (Except EVERYTHING!) :)
Aunt SD...What do you know about Fuel Efficeniency....The bus you drive burns as much fuel as a small city.....
I just cant do a small car... I wont date a girl that only cares about the things I buy her... I want her to be happy with watching a drive in Movie in the bed of the truck!
